The Geberit Trend Edit

Trend Talk with Obsidian Interiors, Cheltenham

I was recently tasked by Geberit to venture into one of my local stockists to take a look at some the glorious products they have on offer. Fortuitously for me, that stockist was Obsidian interiors in Cheltenham - anyone who lives locally must visit for ALL things bathroom and kitchen inspo, it really is so beautifully styled.

I talked to showroom manager and Interior Designer, Alison Evans, to hear what trends she's seeing coming up.

1) textured/ feature walls using contrasting tiles

2) featured lighting

3) wood and plants – adopting natural features

Alison also offered up some fabulous tips for bathroom design:

'Design and choose your layout first. For a more contemporary look, introduce tiled panels to give you that sleek, modern look and it’s perfect for less grouting. Use pops of colour - colour is a really important factor for the design, and also gives the illusion of extra space.’

We both agreed that clever storage and ergonomic storage solutions are essential for bathroom design. The Acanto range does this perfectly. It’s incredibly safe - lockable medicine drawer in the Acanto tall cabinet, and hidden drawers in basin units to utilise every inch of space.

One of my favourite products was the AquaClean Mera loo. Great for all of the family, discreetly washing both men and women with clean, body temperature water to promote the feeling of freshness and increase hygiene. It helps maintain independence and dignity in older family members too and saves on loo roll so much better for the environment. It also comes with a remote control. An ACTUAL remote control! Alison has VERY kindly agreed to offer you all a 40% discount on the specific product using the code: OBSAQUA.

The featured moodboard/ concept board is a way in which you could start to build a cohesive scheme, applying current and upcoming trends; Living Walls, Pops of Colour and Feature Lighting, but it also considers more future-proof elements, like clever storage solutions.

A little ‘Trend Tip’ before I go. Don’t be tempted simply by what’s deemed to be on trend. Of course, go for it if you absolutely love it and use it for inspiration, but just don’t be swayed too much by what’s currently fashionable, as you may regret it rather swiftly!
